The Urban Center of Montevarchi was created to foster civic participation and improve public policy through dialogue between the administration and the local community. It hosts key municipal offices and serves as a space for discussion, information sharing, and citizen engagement, reflecting a commitment to transparent and inclusive governance.
Adjacent, the new Municipal Archive is a public space designed for the preservation and cataloging of the city’s documentary heritage. Architecturally, it features a system of orthogonal axes and two large structural walls that frame the partially underground archive, integrating it into the urban context while respecting the scale of nearby historic buildings.
